I usually love your ideas, but I have to say, I’ve had a bad experience with this one…over 10 years ago, and it still nags me. I rolled down a bit crooked and ripped my scapula muscle. I can also see some very dangerous potential injury to knees. I would possible rethink this one for adults. For what it’s worth…

    Sincerely, Donnette

I have viewed the video. I have read the comments above. First off, I am a trainer and I am in good physical condition. I have a rebuilt knee from a sport injury. That said, any exercise I perform personally, knowing there is much knee movement as the Soccer Mom Boot Camp, I would modify to regular lunges. I know for myself I could not go all the way to the floor, to the point of putting my knee onto the floor. That would be the first modification I would make. Secondly, I would begin this slowly. Ensuring each stage of the exercise, in the beginning is distinct, knowing I am ensuring correct technique (setting myself up) before performing the climb up the wall, setting myself up before going into the forward roll, setting myself for technique going into (what I would modify) into lunge walking. Again, setting up to lunge back, setting for back roll then into the climb up the wall.

I think it is clear this is advanced training and should be approached with that in mind from the beginning.
I also would practice first climbing the wall. Getiing the feel, feeling the muscles that are working here, slowly progressing. I would practice the forward roll and setting up to lunge walk (for me – modify). I would then practice lunge walk back (again my modified move becasue of my knee) and set into back roll.

Practice this in stages. Have each move down first. Then, slowly, begin to work towards putting it all together.
We need to know as trainers who is really qualified to perform this type of workouts. We also need to know that as trainers, even though we might be in great physical condition, we need to approach a new move or training technique as if we are a “beginner” ourselves. I never take for granted any new training technique and go full speed ahead into it.
Brian, when I first found this websight, I was in heaven! I thought I had found my match made in heaven. I love what you are doing here. I was out of town when you offered the Ninja training program. When I got home and opened my email, I went straight to the websight. Alas, it was already full. I will be watching for the next one and hope to get in on that one!!
