Sweet stuff! Is this for more advanced clientele? Not sure if my class can handle that?

I have one question B… when will you actually provide something useful? I guess you are the exception to the rule and work with clients that are all strong, fit, and advanced (must be nice). Sorry to sound like an ass, but you do know what I say is true. At some point, and when you want to make a little more $$$ through DVD’s, maybe you will take on your hardest challenge and develop metabolic workouts for individuals that are 50+ lbs overweight. Or maybe I should start making the DVD’s since I am quite proficient in that arena. I laugh only because I am not alone in regards to enjoying some of your off the wall approaches limited by the fact that maybe only 10% of my clientele could take on such things. Progressions, regressions? None! Maybe the well will never dry up for you since the industry is every growing. And there will always be green trainers looking for material and will buy your stuff until they realize it’s limitations in terms of functional applications.

Sorry for the rant, I can assure you my intentions are only to bring this to your attention ONCE AGAIN, and see if you are up for this challenge.

    Best regards,
    Ryan

P.S. I’m sure that this will not get posted but hope it does fall before your eyes.

Content I would not use on any current clients but as alwasy fantastic stuff I can use in the future or potential Clients. All the advanced stuff I tailor to suit the different needs of my clients wheithet they are 20 or 65. Obviously I am not going to get a senior client walking up a wall but 2 hands on 2 different medicine balls why not. They key is to tailor and adapt it to your clients. Show them what they can aspire to with hard work proper nutrition and a fantastic fitness plan

hank You all for your heartfelt feedback.

The key Ryan is passion. I have zero passion to develop systems that are not multi-planar or multi-joint. We were designed to move and play like children do. When a client becomes overweight everything still applies. We are currently taking a 340lb man through dynamic warm ups and multi-planar advanced exercise. he has lost 45 lbs already and his testimonial can be seen here. This stuff is for everyone. Just follow proper kinesthetic progressions and you will see!

  3. Ryan,

I will come to Brian’s defense here… and I don’t know Brian personally nor am trying to get on his good side either. Ryan… part of being a trainer is to bring your client along to the point where they can do an exercise like this. How do you do that? You have to modify the exercise while in the back of your mind think, ” I am going to get them to the point where they can do this really cool glute exercise”. No one deconditioned will be able to do this type of exercise right off, but it is something they should aspire to do in the long run and it gives them a goal! Everyone knows how to train someone who is deconditioned… you have to take it slow and not try to kill the client until they are conditioned enough to try more advanced exercises. Who wants to see someone who is deconditioned on a video “trying” to do exercises they really can’t do? Point is… you’ll have some clients that might be able to do this stuff in no time at all, but you might have some clients that can’t do it right away. It is your job as a trainer to modify this stuff until they get to a point where they can do it and that is in your favor because then they can really see their progress. Progress is what keeps people coming back, my friend. I would urge you to sit down and see how you can modify what Brian teaches and use it with your clients until you get them to the point when they can do the “real” exercise. The real problem is most trainers want everything handed to them on a gold tray without having to do any thinking. Think my friend, think. Its the difference between a professional and those trainers you see in the local gym that are just their to past time until they can find another job.

I hope these comments aren’t along the same lines that “girls cant do pushups on toes, modify with the knees”, or “girls cant do pullups so move on”. I think these are different, outside the box, core stability that involves coordination, balance, strength, stanima, and flexibility. Looks to me like if done in moderation, anybody can at least try them and then work on them. Balance, coordination, flexibility, and all the rest complete an athlete. And whether they are overweight, or older, they can still be athletes! I can’t wait to try this!!

Thank you dear Brian for more great ’stuff’. You never cease to amaze me with your creativity. I have plenty of clients that I will bring this challenge to and I just know they will love (and hate) me for it!

  6. Lisa Derrick says:

I love these core stability exercises. Minimal equipment. only makes me a better trainer because I feel I have to master new exercises before I bring them to my clients and we need to always be challenging ourselves and our clients by bringing challenging exercises that grant results and that is what we have here. Thanks again for the great challenge.

First I thank you for your response. Second… I get it, I hear you when you talk about passion. I don’t think I need to go any further with this reply except to say that one day it would be great if someone put together a program design template specifically for overweight individuals, with progressions/regressions. Don’t get me wrong, I am very successful in helping my clients achieve their goals… it is simply a case of wishing for a larger arsenal to use with clients with varying limitations. I have been successful regressing many of your programs, as well as my own, to suit my clients abilities/current limitations, It would be nice if someone targeted “these” clients’ needs.

Much respect for the work you do and your ability to grow.
